SYMPTOM(s):

Shared library error when starting AppServer and Orabroker Server

Can not load shared library

The above error is shown in dataserv.lg file

FACT(s) (Environment):

The AppServer is configured to connect to Oracle client directly
Same error appears when starting orabroker1
ORACLE_HOME is set correctly in the "Environment" section of the AppServer and orabroker1
ORACLE_HOME is also set in the system's Environment tab
AdminServer is started after adding ORACLE_HOME in system tab
Starting a self service windows client connecting to Oracle works with no issues
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

CAUSE:

For orabroker1 and AppServer, besides "Environment" section of the ubroker file, it also looks in system environment for ORACLE_HOME. Since ORACLE_HOME is not added until after the adminServer is started, it is not picked up by either AppServer or orabroker1, therefore these brokers failed to locate Oracle client shared library in %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory

FIX:

Restart AdminService and then AppServer and orabroker1 so ORACLE_HOME is picked up by AdminService and therefore the two unified brokers
