SYMPTOM(s):

Cannot access ESD (Electronic Software Distribution) site via Internet Explorer 7

The browser appears to be looping.

Not getting to the ESD login screen.

URL associated with the ESD appears to have login credentials even though I have not logged in.

Can duplicate the issue with a new Internet Explorer session.

FACT(s) (Environment):

Using IE (Internet Explorer) 7
Accessing the ESD site via www.progress.com -> Selecting Support -> Locating OpenEdge product and then selecting -> Download a Product
Issue does not occur if accessing the ESD site via www.progress.com -> Selecting Support -? Selecting OpenEdge (actually entering the OpenEdge Support Page -> then selecting Download a Product from the Download Tab.
Cannot duplicate the issue with Firefox browser.

CAUSE:

Caching issue.

FIX:

Clear your browsers cache. For detailed instructions on how to clear the browser cache, search your browser's Help menu for "clear cache". The following URL: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html provides instructions for how to clear the cache for IE7, IE8, Firefox 3 and Firefox 3.5.

If you do not wish to clear out your cache at this time, you can use a different browser like Firefox to access the ESD until such time as you are able to clear your browser's cache.
