SYMPTOM(s):
Error 9612 sending test email alert from Fathom Management Console
E-Mail Action Failed! Action: <name of action>, Recipient: <recipient>, Host: <SMTP Host>, Port: <SMTP port number> (9612)
FACT(s) (Environment):
Using a valid Hostname or IP address of the Mail Server
Uisng correct port of the Mail server
Sendmail from machine works fine
All Supported Operating Systems
Fathom Management 3.0A
OpenEdge Management 3.1x
OpenEdge Management 3.2x
CAUSE:
The default "Send From" address is just "Fathom" and can cause problems with some mail servers.
FIX:
From the Fathom Management Console session select Library/Default_Mail_Action/edit and enter an acceptable "Send From" address.
Send From: Fathom
needs to be changed to something like:
Send From: Fathom@mydomain.com
Not that Default_Mail_Action and all other ACTIONS that send mail messages will have to have the "Send From" address modified.
