SYMPTOM(s):
Sonic Adapter won't start after migrating from Progress version 9 to OpenEdge 10.
Ubroker.properties file from version 9 copied to OpenEdge 10 installation.
Increased logging level for Sonic Adapter to 3.
admserv.log shows errors when attempting to start the Sonic Adapter.
Getting NullPointerException error starting Sonic Adapter. Error reads:
java.lang.NullPointerException
jvmStart fails with execution status: 5
FACT(s) (Environment):
Adaptconfig indicates no syntax errors in ubroker.properties for the Sonic Adapter entries.

CHANGE:
Migrated from Progress version 9 to OpenEdge 10.
CAUSE:
Entries to change the Java startup used from prior versions cause problems for more current versions of Java.
In version 9 a jvmarg entry for -Djava.compiler=NONE was used to turn off JIT (just in time compiling).
FIX:
-Djava.compiler=NONE should no longer be needed and has been seen to cause problems if used in OpenEdge 10.2a or later.
