Process Monitor diagnostic tool indicates that third-party process npfsvc32.exe is accessing the OpenEdge installation directory during Architect startup
Process Monitor diagnostic tool indicates that third-party process nvcoas.exe is accessing the eclipse configuration directory and causing sharing violation on several temporary files.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows Vista
OpenEdge 10.x
Norman AntiVirus is activated on the machine
CAUSE:
The AntiVirus software is preventing access to the OpenEdge files during the startup phase.
FIX:
Configure the AntiVirus software so that the live scan is disabled on the OpenEdge installation directory.
