SYMPTOM(s):
Error 9318 when trying to connect to pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com with ssl
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) failure. error code <err_number>: <ssl_error_message> (9318)
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) failure error code 145: Unknown network error (9318)
The cert.client.log with SSL debug logging "SSLSYS_DEBUG_LOGGING=4" shows the following errors:
Initialized client logging
Enabling SSL Client session reuse
SSL Client connect failure to host: pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com and port: 443 error (33562769) system library
FACT(s) (Environment):
The existing paypal production site is working fine with ssl
All four ssl certificates fro pilot paypal are in place on the DLC/certs folder
The site has very strict firewall and proxy server
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.1x
OpenEdge 10.2x
CAUSE:
The main reason for not able to establish ssl connection with pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com the firewall blocking the connection.
FIX:
Create a firewall rule that will allow connection to pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com on port 443 both inbound and outbound.
