GOAL:

Is there a way to aiarchive if the secondary system is not available?

GOAL:

Can aiarchive work if the system being archived to has not booted yet?

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
OpenEdge Category: Database

FIX:

The ai archiver will continue attempts to write to the archive directory if there is no space available. The ai archiver will create the archival directory if it does not exist if the ?aiarcdircreate startup argument is specified. There is currently no way to instruct the ai ararchiver to "wait for" a directory to become available.
You could use

rfutil db ?C aiarchiver setdir remotedir [-aiarcdircreate]

to help manage when to begin archiving to the remote directory.
