GOAL:
Progress Support for Replication between HP PA-Risc and HP Itanium.
GOAL:
Progress Product Manager Statement of Support for Replication from HP PA-Risc to HP Itanium.
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge Replication
OpenEdge 10.1x
OpenEdge 10.2x
FIX:
Progress Software has not tested this configuration, and thus it is not a supported configuration.
However, we have observed other customers run successfully with similar configurations.
Please keep in mind the requirements outlined below, which are the conditions that we believe must be met for OpenEdge Replication to run between PA-RISC and Itanium. If these conditions are satisfied, we know of no reason why it would not work.
Please note that since the configuration has not been tested by Progress Software, it is critical that you test OpenEdge Replication thoroughly in your environment before deciding to run in production. Part of the testing that we recommend includes following the steps in the best practice solution, P129563.
Because you are a valued customer, if you choose to proceed with this configuration and observe the requirements that we have outlined, we can help with any technical problems via Technical Support on a best effort basis.
The source and target server machines for OpenEdge Replication must have:
The same Operating system (e.g. AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Windows)
The same OpenEdge bit version (e.g. 32Bit or 64Bit OpenEdge editions).
The same OpenEdge release (e.g. OpenEdge 10.1B Enterprise RDBMS)
The same Big-Endian byte ordering format
In addition:
Running after imaging between PA-RISC and Itanium platforms will not be supported.
The source and target machines must both be 32-bit or both be 64-bit.
If you have any questions, please direct them to Technical Support.
