GOAL:
Do I need to specify -H -S in the .pf file used by the proserve command if they are to be used on the host where the database is located?
GOAL:
Are -H and -S required in a .pf file when the database is started?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
No. A .pf file used on a local host does not require the use of -H when the database is issued a proserve command.
The -S is required when the database is being started for remote connections.
However, if the command is issued from a remote host both the -S and -H parameters would be required in the .pf file.
