File system Fathom alert is incorrectly fired
FileSystemUsedThresholdExceeded: FileSystem Used Threshold Exceeded! Value: , Threshold (9616)
FileSystem Used Threshold Exceeded! Value: 98.0, Threshold 90.0 (9616)
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Fathom Management 2.1A
Fathom Management 3.0A
Monitored file systems have plenty of disc space free
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00103392
CAUSE:
This is caused by a race/thread contention issue in rule evaluation code
FIX:
Upgrade to OpenEdge Management 3.0A04, 3.1A01 or 3.1B where this issue has been fixed.
As a workaround to prevent false alerts, set the monitoring plan to throw an alert after 2 failed polls; the polling interval at least 5 minutes and the threshold value at 95%:
In the Fathom Management Console:
- click on the file-system resource in question
- On the right hand side of the management console (in the monitoring plans section), click the Edit button.
- In the Monitoring Plan screen, under the Rule Defintion section, change to throw alert after 1 failed poll to after 2 failed poll.
To check the actual usage, run the OS Metrics diagnostic page: http://localhost:9090/diagnostics/osmetrics.jsp
