INTRODUCTION:

This knowledgebase entry describes how to convert a
database from v6 to v8 when error 49 occurs during the
conversion process.
STEP BY STEP DETAILS:
=====================
We have seen on newer operating system versions of Digital
Unix (4.0D, 4.0E, 4.1) that progress sometimes fails with
error 49 without other error messages. In this case it
usually helps to rebuild the executable. If conversion
fails, you need to rebuild proutil and run the conversion
again.
