SYMPTOM(s):
oracle error 1012 when connecting to Oracle
Oracle error - 1012 see "Oracle Error Messages and Codes Manual". (1252)
ORA: -1012 not logged on
FACT(s) (Environment):
Use login and password to log in from DataServer
The login and password is for a valid user in Oracle database
ORACLE_HOME is set in .profile
ORACLE_SID is set in the script starting broker

CAUSE:
ORACLE_SID set in the script is not taking effect. The script user is running a ksh which can not interpret the environment set
FIX:
Set ORACLE_SID in the user's .profile
