SYMPTOM(s):
Compiled code (.r) changes the frames layout
The FRAME / FORM in the code does not have the WIDTH or the SIZE option
The frame without active widgets displays with width 80 columns when running the compiled r-code.
The same frame without active widgets displays with width 40 as expected when running the uncompiled (.p) source code.
The source code (.p) ( uncompiled ) runs as expected
The compiled code (.r) changes the frame geometry by making the frame as large as the terminal allows, basically 80 characters wide.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1B
Issue could not be reproduced under Progress 9.1E or OpenEdge 10.x.
UNIX
CAUSE:
The cause of this issue is unknown. Since Progress 9.1B is a retired product, there are no plans to either log a bug or fix this issue for for that version.
FIX:
A workaround is to add the SIZE and / or the WIDTH option to the FORM definition.
