Connection problems with BackOffice & 8.2X/8.3X

DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.

INTRODUCTION:
=============
Installing a Small Business Server (SBS) might give the dreaded error
message:
Could not connect to server for database <DATABASE>, errno <0>. 1432

WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
Recently this problem has appeared and a Norwegian customer supplied
the information in this K-base to help others overcome the 1432 error.

These fixes are to be used on the BackOffice products only.

PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
====================
It is highly recommended to download and install the service pack 4
right after the installation has been finished of the NT4 server.
Further the Y2K patches should be installed for obvious reasons.

To complete the Back Office installation client disks are created on
the server and the inf file on the disk are then installed on the
win95 machines. The first time the win95 clients log on to the server
they are upgraded to BackOffice compliant machines.

This will change 2 DLL's that are vital to Progress/TCP networking:
%\WINDOWS\WINSOCK.DLL & %\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL
These have to be replaced with version 4.00.1111 before the
connection to the server can be established.

The files are write protected so these flags needs to be removed
before the files are replaced.
