GOAL:
Is it possible to not install MS JVM when performing a NetSetup installation
GOAL:
How to avoid MS Java to be installed when running NetSetup
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress/OpenEdge Versions
FIX:
No, it is not possible.
As a workaround, rename the msjavx86.exe file located in %DLC%\bin\3party on the server where Progress/OpenEdge is installed.
Thus, the MS JVM will not be installed when running the NetSetup installation.
Warning: If the MS JVM is not installed the Progress Explorer tool will not work properly.
