How to Configure Sonic Adaptor on UNIX 64 bit platforms?
GOAL:
Which Sonic version is supported on UNIX 64 bit for Open Edge 10.1B and Open Edge 10.1C?
FACT(s) (Environment):
UNIX
Sun Solaris SPARC 64-bit
OpenEdge 10.1B
OpenEdge 10.1C
FIX:
Open Edge does not have Adapter license for 64 bit UNIX platforms, however the configuration can be manually done post installation to support ServerConnect and ClientConnect.
1. Find a Sonic installation that is supported by OE
2. Copy over the client jar file to $DLC/sonic/MQ6.1/lib directory (say if you use MQ 6.1)
You should have a sonic_Client.jar file in this directory, this is the Sonic client that the ServerConnect works with
3. In $DLC/properties/AdminServerPlugin.properties, find following line
[PluginPolicy.Progress.SonicMQ]
add $DLC/sonic/MQ6.1/lib/sonic_Client.jar to classpath
4. Restart AdminServer, and unified broker that uses ServerConnect
