SYMPTOM(s):
The OpenEdge installation fails when the installation files are located on a network drive
OpenEdge install fails with cannot find the path specified when the installation files are located on a local drive
The OpenEdge installation fails with the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.
Get last error: the system cannot find the path specified. c:\apps\oe\install/tlr/installtlr.bat.
Error in tailoring files.
Install Shield Setup launcher has stopped working.
FACT(s) (Environment):
The installtlr.bat file does not show in a standard file listing because it is contained in one of the cab files.
When using files on the same networked drive to install the product on a Windows XP platform the installation is successful

CAUSE:
One known cause is that when the installation media are located in a deep directory structure on a local drive, this error can result
eg D:\Software\Progress_Software\20100607-000001-major-full-release\openedge\openedge management cd\setup.exe
This problem also manifests when the installation media are located on a network drive
FIX:
Copy the installation files to a local drive with a short (temporary) directory listing and run the installation setup.exe
eg D:\Software\openedge management cd\setup.exe
