FIX:
Some versions of the DataDirect ODBC drivers support Unicode.
The 5.0 driver does not support Unicode characters.
The earliest driver which supports Unicode capabilities was introduced in 10.1B.
This is the 5.20.00 driver version which is a Type 4 ODBC driver.
Within the Advanced tab of the ODBC Configuration for the Datasource, enable the Use Wide Character Types to active Unicode support.
