GOAL:
Why is my ODB OpenEdge Management database growing so much?
GOAL:
Why is my OpenEdge Management fathom.odb resource database so large?
GOAL:
Why is my OpenEdge Management fathomdatacache.odb database so large?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Fathom Management
OpenEdge Management
FIX:
There are two odb databases for OpenEdge Management.
The FM/config/fathom.odb database is the Management resource database and contains all resources which were configured and to be monitored by OpenEdge Management.
The FM/wrkdir/cachedata/fathomdatacache.odb database contains all cached graph data that is displayed in the OpenEdge Management console screen.
The size of the fathom.odb database is dependant upon the number of resources that are configured for monitoring by OpenEdge Management. This database should not be deleted.
The size of the fathomdatacache.odb database is dependent upon how long OpenEdge Management has been gathering information on monitored resources that are displayed in the graph displays. This database will continue to grow thoughout time. This database may be deleted at any time OpenEdge Management is not running, however, in doing this all the historical cashed graph data will be lost.
