GOAL:
Are Infragistics controls installed on the local machine when using Netsetup?
GOAL:
Are Infragistics controls installed on the local machine with a Shared Network Installation?
GOAL:
How is the OpenEdge Ultra Controls .NET license used when Progress is installed via Netsetup?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.2A
Windows
FIX:
Infragistics Ultra Controls are not installed directly on the local PC when installing OpenEdge 10.2A via Netsetup, but they are still accessible. Progress clients will reference the version of the control located in the main Progress installation folder (DLC\bin\infragistics\winforms) on the server, loading them across the network.
A caveat to be aware of is Code Access Security for .NET controls. By default it is set to "Full Trust" on local machines and "Partial Trust" on networks. Netsetup will change the default CAS setting to "Full Trust" for the DLC\bin folder. The Netsetup installer allows users to choose which security setting to apply. The setting can be changed at a later date using the .NET Framework CASPOL utility.
