SYMPTOM(s):
Using Microsoft's SMS product for deployment of OE studio and during the Progress silent install of the 10.0B05 service pack, there is an interactive request for a supplemental End User License Agreement (EULA)
A .NET Framework EULA prevents the use of a silent install of 10.0B5
FACT(s) (Environment):
The original product install does not request the EULA agreement
Silent install of the development product does not request a EULA
Adding deployment products to the original installation does not prevent the interactive agreement request, for the Microsoft EULA, from appearing during the silent install of the service pack.
Uninstalling and reinstalling of 10.0B does not resolve the issue
Having .net installed on the box prior to the install does not resolve this issue.
Windows
OpenEdge 10.0B
OpenEdge 10.0B05 Service Pack
CAUSE:
The code in the Service Packs for 10.0B pops up the .NET Framework EULA if any development product is installed. In order to be in compliance with Microsoft, it was decided that the .NET Framework EULA would be displayed whenever a development product had been installed in the 10.0B FCS.
FIX:
This is expected behavior. There is no workaround for this. The silent install is typically used for deployment, not for development. If a development product is not part of the install, i.e. Studio, 4GL Dev, Architect, or Dev Server, then the EULA should not be displayed during a silent install.
