SYMPTOM(s):
Getting error: "Proinst: line 91: nnnnn Segmentation fault " trying to install OpenEdge 10.1C on a Linux SuSe
Error occurs after formatting information has been entered.
Answered "yes" to "Use Previous Settings"
TERM = xterm.
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1B
Linux
CAUSE:
On UNIX the only way this message "Use Previous Settings", should come up is to run the installation from a proenv session or a session that is aware of $DLC. New OpenEdge installs on UNIX should be done as root from a command prompt and in a session that is not aware of any $DLC settings. If this install was directed to an existing Progress Directory with an existing install, it should be okay as the installation failed.
FIX:
Start a session that is free of any DLC settings and run the install again.
Make sure $DLC is not in the PATH, as well as echo $DLC, it should not be set.
