SYMPTOM(s):
The first call to a Web Service fails with error 11457
SOAP processor initialization error. Could not load prosoap.dll or libprosoap.so (11457)
Subsequent calls to a Web Service fail with error 11442
SOAP processor initialization error: Initialization attempt failed previously, not attempted again. (11442)
FACT(s) (Environment):
Using a new OpenEdge installation
OpenEdge 10.1x
Windows
CAUSE:
The Progress installation is corrupt, most probably due to read failures from the installation media.
FIX:
To correct this issue, try the following:
- Uninstall OpenEdge (making sure all files and directories have been removed).
- Re-install OpenEdge using a different installation media.
- OR -
- Uninstall OpenEdge (making sure all files and directories have been removed).
- Copy the contents of the installation media to a local hard disk.
- Remove all file / directory "read-only" attributes.
- Re-run setup from there.
