Why does my EasyAsk sort by Featured Items not work?
Default Sort for Products: Featured Items, Descending, EAScore, Descending and Featured Items do not appear first
CAUSE:
The Featured Item Utility is executed after the Product Indexer (which creates the .bin file) and all the information necessary to properly sort the products was not available when the .bin file was created.
FIX:
When the Featured Items is the first field in the default sort criteria, change the index build script to delete the .bin file after executing the
Featured Item Utility and before executing the Cross Sell Utility. This will force the .bin file to be recreated by the Cross Sell Utility and it will
have all the information determined by the Featured Items Utility to create a proper default sort in the index. This step can be incorporated
into any build script without any adverse consequences.
