SYMPTOM(s):
Installation fails with "The expiration date for the configuration information entered has expired" or similar error when expiration date has not passed or license has no expiration date.
Installation fails with error 140 or 139
Installation error 140: The expiration date for the configuration information entered has expired
INSTALLATION ERROR (139):The entered configuration information is incorrect. Re-enter the configuration data.
FACT(s) (Environment):
License has no expiration date, or expiration date has not passed yet.
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
CAUSE:
Entering incorrect serial number or control codes.
The expiration date is encoded in the control codes, so mistyping the codes can trigger this error.
FIX:
If the license addendum lists zeroes at the beginning of a serial number, those zeroes need to be entered within the installation program for the installation to work successfully.
Review control codes for typos and re-enter.
