GOAL:

OE Visual Designer: Should I install my own Infragistics controls in the same directory where OpenEdge installs its own Infragistics controls?

GOAL:

When installing my own separately licensed Infragistics controls, should I install them in the same directory that OpenEdge creates for its own distributed Infragistics controls?

GOAL:

When installing my own Infragistics controls, should I install them in the same directory that OpenEdge creates to install its distributed Infragistics controls?

GOAL:

Should Infragistics controls that are NOT installed and distributed by OpenEdge be installed in the same $DLC\bin\infragistics\winforms directory as those controls distributed by OpenEdge?

GOAL:

How to Add new Controls to the Architect Visual Designer Toolbox?

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows
OpenEdge 10.2A

FIX:

1. Infragistics controls other than those distributed and installed by OpenEdge should be installed in a separate directory other than the $DLC\bin\infragistics\winforms directory containing the OpenEdge distributed and installed Infragistics controls .

2. To add new controls or a new control group to the OpenEdge Architect Visual Designer Toolbox, use the Add Control and the Add Control Group dialog dialog which may be accessed from the context menu when the Toolbox is selected. To access the OpenEdge Architect Visual Designer Toolbox context menu, right-mouse click on the Control Groups area of the selected Toolbox.
