GOAL:
How to Use Proxy Parameters with Progress Appserver
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.2x
CAUSE:
Progress database servers were enhanced with proxy parameters. This enables a systems administrator to setup a Progress configuration where database servers are started in a specific tcp port-range.
FIX:
Specify the -minport and -maxport parameters for a database broker. Since more and more customers are using Progress Appservers in their network they would like to have the same parameters available for this product. At this point in time the proxy parameters are not implemented in Progress 8.2. The parameters are supported in Progress 9.x.
