SYMPTOM(s):
AdminServer starts admsrvc.exe but no java.exe
Progress registry key missing from registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/PSC.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
Windows
CAUSE:
The PROGRESS registry entry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/PSC key is missing.
FIX:
The PROGRESS registry key and all its' information was found under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/PSC.
1. Export the PROGRESS registry key from HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/PSC.
2. Modify the .reg file to point to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key instead of HKEY_CURRENT_USER key.
3. Import the information by double clicking the .reg file.
4. Verify that the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/PSC/PROGRESS key is now present with all of its expected information.
5. Start the AdminServer.
