SYMPTOM(s):
Progress explorer will not start from command line or from an icon
Can't start progress explorer from proenv command line using command:
C:\Progress\OpenEdge10.1B\bin\jvmStartw.exe -f "C:\Progress\OpenEdge10.1B\proexp.prm"
No errors being reported.
admclnt.log file is not being created.
No JavaTools.properties file in %DLC%\properties directory.
No JavaTools.properties-sav file in %DLC%\properties directory.
FACT(s) (Environment):
The proexp.prm file is a parameter file which other files or commands to a calling program.
The proexp.prm contains:
-x @{Startup\DLC}\properties\JavaTools.properties::ProgressExplorer
@{Startup\DLC}\bin\runproexp.exe
@{Startup\DLC}
Enterprise Database license installed.
DEP settings are correct
Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition
OpenEdge 10.1B02 Service Pack
CAUSE:
Missing JavaTools.properties in %DLC%\properties directory.
FIX:
1. Locate the JavaTools.properties file from another machine and place it on this machine (providing that the installation path names are consistent). If the paths are not consistent, then modify the JavaTools.properties file to have the appropriate path names.
2. Consider reinstalling the product as these files are part of the default installation and should have been in your existing installation.
