SYMPTOM(s):
AppServer does not start
NameServer (NS1) cannot find AppServer (error 8206)
Could not process parameters in .pf file (error 5509)
java.net.BindException: Address already in use
Host IP Address not recognised
FACT(s) (Environment):
Starting AppServer via Progress Explorer
Host machine has a DHCP address configuration
Startup parameters stored in a .pf file
OpenEdge 10.1C

CAUSE:
Corrupt AppServer configuration (undetermined error in its creation and configuration)
FIX:
Discard the old AppServer, and create a new one with the following properties: Broker operating mode = Stateless Broker port number = 4000 no user login or password set on the Broker registered with NameServe registered by Host Name startup parameters pointing to the path and filename of the required .pf file extended server logging Also check that the .pf file being referenced contains the correct parameters and file paths.
