SUMMARY:
You might encounter the following error when you start the Progress User Interface Builder (UIB) on the Windows 95 or 98 platform:
Error occurred while creating/connecting to
automation server for <automation object name> (5894)
A likely cause of the error is that Microsoft Service Pack 1 was not installed on the machine before Progress was installed.
SOLUTION:
Follow these steps if you encounter the 5894 error:
1) Uninstall Progress.
Do not just delete the Progress files from the DLC area. Use
the uninstall utility that comes with Progress.
2) Reboot the PC.
3) Download Microsoft Service Pack #1 from the Microsoft Web site
and install it on the PC.
4) Reboot the PC.
5) Reinstall Progress.
6) Reboot the PC.
