GOAL:
How to configure a combined OpenEdge Architect/Sonic Workbench Eclipse
GOAL:
How to integrate the OpenEdge Architect with Sonic Workbench
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1x
Windows
FIX:
Option 1:
There is a standard installation option in Sonic if you already have OpenEdge 10.1x or 10.2x installed and are now installing Sonic Workbench 7.6. The option is "Use an existing Eclipse installation". Point the installer to your %DLC%\oeide\eclipse directory and you'll find all your favorite Sonic Workbench options available in OpenEdge Architect.
Option 2:
To get the Sonic Workbench hooked into OpenEdge Architect:
1. Copy the file named sonicProduct.link from <Sonic 7.6 Home>Workbench7.6\eclipse\links to <OE10.1x-home>\oeide\eclipse\links
2. Create a new file named sonicWB.link in <OE10.1x-home>\oeide\eclipse\links and add the following line to the file: path=<Sonic 7.6 Home>/Workbench7.6
To get OpenEdge Architect hooked into the Sonic Workbench:
1. Copy the file named openedge.link from <OE10.1x-home>\oeide\eclipse\links to <Sonic 7.6 Home>Workbench7.6\eclipse\links
By doing it this way you don't modify the installations for either Architect or the Workbench. You can simply delete the link files at any time to undo the integration.
