SYMPTOM(s):

Load via Data Administration tool loads less records than expected

Data Administration tool states 55000 records are expected but only 45000 are loaded (just an example)

No error message appears

FACT(s) (Environment):

The version of the target database (or Data Administration) tool does not matter, a 10.1C Data Administration tool will still load the incorrect amount of records.

When opening the .d file with UltraEdit for example one can observe one or multiple occurances of this special character:

"?S-GRAVENHAGE" 1 yes yes

In notepad++ the same character appears as follows:

"SUBS-GRAVENHAGE" 1 yes yes

Database was dumped in 10.0B on Windows and loaded into a later version on Windows

The correct amount of records are loaded if the load takes place on a non Windows OS (for example AIX)

OpenEdge 10.0B
Windows

CAUSE:

All evidence suggests that the .d file somehow was corrupted by the above mentioned special character which seems to be interpreted as some sort of "end of file" indicator by the Data Administration tool.

FIX:

Open the .d file and remove all occurance of said special character manually and load the .d again, it should work now.

Also, this corruption of the .d file does not occur when dumping the DB again in 10.1A, 10.1B or 10.1C for example.
