GOAL:
Do I need to use probuild or makefile to rebuild Progress executables after installing operating system patches?
GOAL:
Do I need to re-link the Progress executables after installing operating system patches?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Versions
FIX:
If you are using the binaries that are installed when you first installed Progress, the answer is no.
If you have built 3rd party C libraries into the Progress executable that is being used, then the answer is "We don't know" because we don't know the impact on the 3rd party components. In which case, it is recommended that the operating system patches and binaries are tested on a test server.
