GOAL:

How to create a custom table relationship in RESULTS without modifying the standard relationship between two tables

GOAL:

How to create alternate joins for tables in Query RESULTS

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows 32 Intel
Progress 8.x
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

In Graphical RESULTS there is an option to create an Alias for a table. The relationship between this alias and another table can then be customized without ever modifying the default relationship between the original tables.
To use this option, from the RESULTS menu bar select "Query" >> "Site Admin" >> "Table Aliases". Type in an alias name, like aOrder for the Order table, select the table to create an alias for then select "Add" then click Ok.
Now, in the "Table Relationships" utility (also under "Site Admin") you can create or modify the relationship between the alias and the table you need to relate to and customize it.
