SYMPTOM(s):
Extent box remains checked when duplicate field is created using GUI Data Dictionary tool
Field name entered in Create Field dialog already exists in table
Extent check box is checked
A message box appears with the following error:
A field with this name already exists in this table.
When the message box is dismissed, the Extent check box remains checked, but the fill-in for the number of extents does not appear.

FIX:
Correct the field name, then uncheck the Extent check box and check it again to enable the fill-in for the number of extents.
