GOAL:
How much memory can be used by the database server?
GOAL:
What is the memory limitation for 32-bit OpenEdge on 64-bit operating systems?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
The database server for OpenEdge is designed to scale its memory usage depending on load and startup parameters. While startup parameters can be limited by the license type in use, the memory usage is not bounded by the license type.
However the operating system may impose a limit on how much memory a process can use. Operating system limits are not specific to the OpenEdge product.
For example on 64-bits systems, a 32-bit process is limited to a 32-bit address space which is less than 4Gb.
