SYMPTOM(s):
Errors 1046 and 1048 when rolling forward the last available After Image file from a database crash
Last AI extent fails with errors 1046 and 1048
File offset shown within error 1048 is close to the same size as the AI extent being rolled
SYSTEM ERROR: Roll forward of file <filename> did not complete normally (1046)
SYSTEM ERROR: End of last note read is at file offset <offset> (1048)
FACT(s) (Environment):
Database is being restored after database or machine failure
Rolling forward all available After Image (AI) extents
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.x

CAUSE:
When the original failure occurred, some notes had not yet been written to the BUSY AI extent.
FIX:
This is expected behavior if the database was active and all AI notes had not been written to the AI file.
Start the database. This will perform database recovery and will backout any incomplete transactions.
