GOAL:
Is it possible to disable the compiler for linked resources in 10.1C and later?
GOAL:
How to disable the compiler for linked resources?
GOAL:
How to prevent automatic rebuild of linked resources?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1C
Windows
FIX:
Starting with 10.1C, the auto-build feature of OpenEdge Architect includes the source code in "linked resources" in the build set.
In cases where it is not desirable to build the linked resources along with other project files, several solutions are available:
- disable auto-build and enable "build on save". In most cases "linked resources" are not edited/saved within Architect and the goal is achieved.
- disable auto-build and define "working sets" that can be built separately.
- use source code control and allow a copy of the shared items within the developer's project, under supervision of the SCMS.
