GOAL:

How to change the location of the editor configuration files

GOAL:

How to share editing options among users

GOAL:

Where are the files that control the AppBuilder and Procedure Editor editing options?

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

The editing options for the Procedure Editor and the AppBuilder are stored several editor configuration files. Files controlling editor options may include the tagfiles folder, p4gl.als, user.vlx, vslick.sta, vusrdefs.e. and vusrs40b.e, depending on what editor options are set. The default location for these files is <working directory>\proedit. This location can be changed using the UseSourceEditor and SetEditorConfigPath session parameters.
If an .ini file is used to set session parameters, verify that UseSourceEditor=yes. Set EditorConfigPath to the desired path. The path may be on a local drive or a network drive.
If the session parameters are in the Windows registry, UseSourceEditor and SetEditorConfigPath can be found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PSC\PROGRESS\<OpenEdge version>\Startup and set as above.
