V7.2A Network DB Server product requires Client NetWorking
PROGRESS requires an additional installation step if you add the
Network Database Server product to an existing 4GL Stand Alone (SA)
for MS-Windows or ProVISION SA for MS-Windows licenses.
If you use the Network Type (-N) startup parameter to specify the DDE
Network when you connect to a local database server, PROGRESS requires
that you also install the Client Networking product.
Workaround:
You must use the following serial and control numbers to enable
client networking either as part of or after completing the
installation update for the Network Database Server.
Follow these steps if you have already installed PROGRESS Version 7.2A
and the Network Database Server product:
1) Run the "PROGRESS Setup" icon from the PROGRESS program group.
2) Enter the following serial number and control numbers in the
screen titled "Product Configuration Data":
Serial Number: 001536663
Control Number: X8CS? 6EQUN BCDEJ
3) Press the "Done" button.
4) Insert the appropriate disks as requested by the installation
utility.
If you have not yet installed PROGRESS Version 7.2A, include the
serial and control numbers listed in step 2 when you install
the Network Database Server product.
These workarounds install a short-term usage license for the
Networking product which is valid until 3/31/94. Prior to this
date, Progress Software will update the ProVISION SA or 4GL SA product
in a subsequent PROGRESS version to fix this problem so that you
will not need this workaround.
