VST (Virtual System Tables) & AIMAGE
DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.
INTRODUCTION:
=============
This knowledge base explains how AIMAGE may be affected when VTS's
have been enabled on a Progress Database.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
Once you have enabled VST (Virtual System Tables) to your DB the only
way to disable them is dump & loading. Applying roll forward of the
AIMAGE file to a previous backup to the enablevst will not work.
If you make a full backup of your DB and after enable the VST's, if
you commit any changes to the DB, this will be registered on the AI
file. If for some reason now you want to disable the VST's and may
think that going to the previous full backup and apply roll forward to
the DB will do it, the answer is NO. The roll forward of the AI file
will also enable the VST's.
