GOAL:

Can scripts that empty full ai extents empty ai notes that have not been replicated.

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

No, to empty a full ai extent will not destroy notes until after they have been replicated. The status an extent goes through is from busy where they are actively being written to, then to locked which indicates that they have not been fully replicated, and then to full once replicated. Even with managed ai in 10.1A, the ai is not marked full until it has been replicated. Once marked empty, the ai file is ready to be reused. Replication introduces the additional status of locked, which prevents the emptying of an extent until all of its notes have been fully replicated.
