GOAL:
Does a database need to be dumped and loaded between each major version when migrating up 2 or more versions?
GOAL:
Do I need to dump and load my database between each version when migrating from Progress 8.x to Openedge 10.x?
GOAL:
Can I dump and load from Progress 8.x to OpeEdge 10.x directly when migrating a database?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Versions
FIX:
The database does not have to be dumped and loaded for each major version along the way when upgrading more than 2 major versions. Only one dump and load needs to be done from the starting version (for example Progress 8.x) to the ending version (for example 10.x). It is not necessary to first dump from Progress 8.x to Progress 9.x and then dump from Progress 9.x to OpendEdge 10.x.
