This type of multli-path I/O mechanism is designed to be completely transparent to applications running on the system and should perform with out any issues with regards to the applications.
Progress just makes calls to the OS to perform required I/O and do not certify the hardware configurations at this level. Progress is dependant upon the OS vender to do that.
