FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

SYMPTOM(s):

Dragging SmartDataBrowse thumb in the scrollbar doesn't fetch next batch of records

When using the SDB thumbnail to drag to the end of the current batch of records, the next batch is not fetched

CAUSE:

This is expected behavior based on the design of the Progress BROWSE widget. The OFF-END event is used by the SmartDataBrowser in order to determine when to fetch another batch of records and this event doesn't fire when dragging the thumb to the bottom of the current batch.
A new Instance Property was added to the SmartDataBrowse in Progress Version 9.1C called "Scroll Remote Results List". If checked, this causes the SmartDataBrowser to try to fill the browse with data when you scroll the browser to the end of a batch of records.

FIX:

- In Progress Version 9.1C and higher, select the "Scroll Remote Results List" property in the SmartDataBrowser's instance properties.
- Prior to Progress Version 9.1C users must click the down arrow in the browse to cause it to fetch the next batch of records.
