SYMPTOM(s):
Users cannot connect with error 47 after online probkup killed
Backup failed due to EOF during next output device request. (5057)
Backup terminated due to errors. (1617)
SYSTEM ERROR: Illegal instruction. (47)
CAUSE:
The probkup process, running as a cron job failed due to needing an additional volume. It is still holding EXCL SELF BKSH locks on the _user table. The locks are in essence in a limbo state.
FIX:
Shut both databases down with:
proshut dbname -byF
And then re-start them.
