SYMPTOM(s):
Java application using proxygen Java proxies consume more memory in OpenEdge 10 than in Progress version 9
Java openclient application is connecting to a Progress AppServer
Proxygen is used to create Java proxies
Memory usage of the Java client increased
Java proxies show that more libraries are being loaded in OpenEdge 10
CAUSE:
Additional features implemented into the OpenEdge product require more memory. Features such as handling of ProDataSets and statefree connections.
FIX:
There is no currently known/tested way to reduce the memory consumption.
Removing or modifying libraries to remove functionality has not been tested and is not supported.
Currently, the only supported solution is to add more memory to the device being used.
