FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
Installation stalls after selecting the default language.
The selection bar will move up or down.
Selection of the <Cancel> option will successfully abort the installation process.
The International Settings window is not displayed.
Root access is not allowed on the machine except through the use of a 3rd party utility called sudo.
User is making use of sudo application for performing the installation.
Sudo utility has been used successfully to perform Progress installations previous to this issue.
Multiple versions of Progress installed on this machine in different directories.
System Environment variables have been modified so earlier Progress installations are not detected when performing the installation.
Software was downloaded from ESD site.
Software was transferred from one machine to another for purposes of performing this installation.
First time making using of these installation files for installing Progress on this machine.
CAUSE:
Installation files were corrupted.
FIX:
Transfer original TAR file that was downloaded from the ESD site to this machine. Reinstall Progress.
