What does WebSpeed error 6391 mean?
This kbase entry will briefly discuss what error message (6391)
means, and reasons why it could occur.
The error (6391) may appear in the session log file for a WebSpeed
broker. The text of the error message is:
WTA: Fatal error, this agents number is illegal. (6391)
This error message usually indicates that you have started more
agents than you are licensed for. When an agent starts, it
compares it's agent number to the maximum allowed. If the agent
number is higher than the number of agents allowed, the agent
will give the 6391 message, and terminate.
When starting your WebSpeed broker, and some of the agents
appear to die almost immediately, check your session log file.
In the session log file, you might see the (6391) error for each
agent that died.
Possible reasons for getting this message:
- in WebSpeed 2.0 there was an issue if you installed a WebSpeed
Transaction Server, followed by a WebSpeed Workshop, where the
Workshop had a lower user count than the Transaction Server.
This is fixed in WebSpeed 2.1.
- Check the WebSpeed configuration file (progress.cfg) for the
number of users the license has. If the license information
indicates a lower user count than the number of agents you are
starting, you will get this (6391) error.
